Patricia “Pat” A. Gardner, 80, of Luna Pier, MI, passed away quietly into the loving arms of her heavenly father on Friday, June 23, 2017, at Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania, OH, with her loving husband of nearly sixty-two years at her side. Born August 21, 1936, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Harold and Evelyn (Warner) Jacobs. Pat married Charles E. Gardner on September 24, 1955. She drove bus for Mason Consolidated Schools before retiring to drive a shuttle for Lee Eye Care in Monroe, MI. Pat was a coordinator for Youth For Understanding International, taking in and placing foreign exchange students for over 20 years. She will be remembered for her sweet, happy disposition, love of travel, especially Hocking Hills, hospitality, gourmet cooking skills, and for her genuinely loving heart for all she met.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Charles; children, Belinda (Howard) Krell, James (Amy) Gardner, Daniel (Jill) Gardner, William Gardner and special daughter, Mary (David) Liske; sisters, Leah Main and Mary Ellen (Chuck) West; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles K. Gardner and great granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Hall.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Whiteford Wesleyan Church, 10285 Sylvania-Petersburg Rd, Ottawa Lake, MI 49267, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm.
